You need time off. Your staff, inevitably need time off, but as we all know, in most businesses, everyone having the same period of holiday as everyone else in the business just does not work. So, what happens is, is that half the business take it off over 1 week and the other half, over the following week, with probably a few days overlap when it comes to national holiday, days.
So, what to do?
Introducing you’re new best friend – conference calling
Have your time off, you deserve it (and so do your employees). However, before everyone decides to pack up for Christmas and leave a skeleton staff in place, it would probably be good to get a contingency plan in place. That’s where conference calling comes in.
Take your time off, but don’t completely abandon your staff, because while all seems quite, it may just be because they don’t won’t to bother you over your holiday time. So, wouldn’t it be better if you set up a daily or weekly call that’s scheduled for 10 minutes and allows you and your staff to keep in the loop with what’s going on and also stops you having in the back of your mind, “I wonder what’s happening?”
